~Book Review~ “Porter” by David Michael

David Michael is a new to me author and I wasn’t exactly sure what to expect jumping into a book with the series title of Dick Dynasty about a family of porn stars.  I was happily surprised at the depth of plot and characterization in Porter and can easily state that this book surpassed all of my expectations.

Porter Hale is not just a porn star, but THE porn star.  However, his life is not all it is cracked up to be and he’s looking to make a change.  Holly Nash is a top casting agent and commitment phobe going through a serious dry spell.  Their worlds literally collide at a premier party and Porter finds he can actually enjoy a woman for more than sex and Holly is forced to face an attraction for Porter that she never saw coming.

David has created an amazing cast of characters in this book from the brothers Hale . . . all porn stars, to Holly’s best friends Becks and Mitch . . . the support system that every girl wishes she had, especially when they show up with a bottle of wine and a bit of sarcasm!  It is enjoyable to watch both Porter and Holly grow as individuals and discover that what they think they want may not necessarily be what they need.

I highly recommend this book.  The plot is full of depth and unexpected twists.  The characters are ones you wish you could hang out with.  It’s a great take on opposites attracting and I can’t wait to read what David Michael has in store for Hale brother number two!

5 Stars!

Cameras don’t catch all of the action…

Porter Hale is a sex god—The Prince of Porn with dreams of grandeur.

When he meets Holly Nash, the biggest casting director in Hollywood, the doors to his future are thrown open.

Just one problem: She loathes porn.

Porter is walking into Holly’s world and the price of admission is higher than either of them could have guessed.

As sparks fly and passions blaze into something wild, they are forced to accept that someone will have to sacrifice their dreams or risk their lover’s heart.

When dreams collide, the aftermath can be messy.

About the Author:

David Michael, author of The United Series, is a self-proclaimed crazy cat lady, a hater of snow, a lover of Star Trek and has an addiction to coffee that is excessive even for an author.

He lives in Salt Lake City where he is currently majoring in Psychology, working a “big boy” job, and writing full time. He shares a living space with his best friend, idolizes his mother, and has a strange knack for making friends with people on the other side of the planet instead of his own back yard.
