~Book Review~ “Lost and Found” Book 3 in The Possessed Series by KL Donn

lost-found-ecover

Pepper Wallace goes on what should be a romantic getaway, only to find herself being severely beaten and then tossed over the side of a mountain to be left to die in the snow.  She wakes up with no memories after being found by the sheriff, Nick Kelly and his cousin and deputy Ace Mitchell while they are out on patrol looking for lost hikers and skiers.

Nick and Ace immediately know that Pepper is everything they want in a woman and long to form a permanent ménage relationship with her.  However, with no memories, is Pepper even free to love or be loved by the due?

While fighting to regain her strength and her memories, Pepper bonds with the lovable and protective pup Roxie, as well as the pup’s owners.  Pledging to always be there and protect Pepper, the trio must discover who left Pepper for dead as well as if she has any family looking for her.

This tale becomes a race against time, as someone is most definitely trying to harm Pepper and those she cares about, including Roxie.  Will Ace and Nick be able to solve the mystery before it’s too late?  Will Pepper remember her past so she is free to move on with her future?  Will all three be able to create a lasting non-traditional relationship?

I loved this story.  Pepper is a strong woman, who has faced a lot of tragedy in her short life, but always tries to see the silver lining in everything.  Her bond with Roxie is beautiful, as Roxie immediately identifies Pepper as someone who needs her unconditional love, no questions asked.  Nick and Ace are the perfect duo of Alpha males, yet they don’t try to control or overwhelm Pepper, but simply love and support her while trying to keep her safe from the person who tried to kill her.

K.L. Donn has a true knack for writing ménage story lines that allow each character to be an equal in the relationship and maintain their identity while also blending to form their unique triad.  I really loved the slight supernatural element in this book that revolved around the group of wild cougars.  Without giving the story away they add an amazing twist to the plot which helps makes this story truly unique and special.

4.5 stars for Lost and Found.
