~Book Review~ “Oliver” by F.G. Adams

Fallyn Blackwood has been on the run since high school.  After escaping her brutal boyfriend, who ends of being the son of a mafia boss, she has no choice but to uproot her entire life and stay on the move to keep herself and her daughter safe.  They have been running for 14 years.

Oliver Bishop is a man on a mission.  After losing his fiancé, Oliver’s life becomes focused on the mission. First it is serving in the military.  Once a civilian, it is working for his old team mate’s security company.  His current mission is to find his old team mates new sister in law, Fallyn.

Fallyn quickly becomes much more than a mission to Oliver, and once he meets her and her teenage daughter, he knows he won’t ever be able to let them go.  But first, he must eliminate the threat of the psychotic ex that has been stalking her for more than a decade as well as convince Fallyn to trust in him to not dominate her life and take away the independence that has kept her alive.

I really enjoyed this book.  Fallyn is one tough cookie.  I love the relationship she has with her daughter Harper.  Because they are all the family the other has to depend on, their relationship is extremely close and their love shines for one another.   Harper is also a strong, sassy and intelligent young woman doing her best to look out for her mom.  I love how quickly she realized Oliver was a good guy and warmed up to him trying to push Fallyn into giving the possibility of a relationship a go.  And, Oliver is an alpha through and through.  While he finds himself wanting to love and protect the new women in his life, he has to find a way to balance their needs for independence as well.  It was enjoyable to watch their relationship grow and develop throughout the book.

While this is a romance, it is action packed.  The madman on Fallyn and Harper’s trail is a powerhouse used to getting what he wants.  Oliver and his team mates are truly put to the test so they can keep Fallyn and Harper safe so that they can come back home after being on the run for so long.

5 stars!

About the Authors:

F.G. Adams writes contemporary and paranormal romance about sexy alpha heroes and feisty-mouthed heroines. The wonder twins forming F.G. enjoy a healthy obsession of reading that started at a young age. Their books reflect an avid imagination that was cultivated by their grandmother who taught them the mind has no limits and to use both hands when reaching for the stars. When not writing, you can find them on a beach with their significant other enjoying the waves or riding a Harley on a country road somewhere in the USA.
