Hope Coulson is heiress to the Coulson Creek Winery, but only if she plays by her father’s rules.  When Hope decides to make her own way in life, she finds herself out of a job and out of her apartment on the same day.  She also just had her first (and only) sexual encounter with a hotter than sin man with moves smoother than silk and zero communication skills.  With no alternatives other than to go crawling back to daddy, Hope is left to sleeping in her car and taking a new job as a cock-tease waitress in a strip club.

Beckett Smith, retired Navy Seal and employee of Scorpio Securities, finds himself way to tempted by the sexy waitress at his boss’s wedding.  When he finds himself feeling way too much after their up close and personal encounter, he leaves to bury himself in the bottle once again.  Even though he claims he wants no ties to anyone, Beck can’t seem to help himself when he finds his stunning one night stand sleeping in her car parked beneath the Jacaranda Tree on his property and offers Hope a place to stay.

While Hope struggles to earn back her savings which mysteriously disappeared as well as avoids her possible stalker, Beck struggles to keep himself sober and unattached . . . especially when he finds out his new roommate is his boss’s sister.  However, life doesn’t always play fair and has plans that keep tossing Hope and Beck towards each other. Both find themselves falling hard and fast . . . but will that be enough to have them committing to more than the summer?

Wrong then Right was a great addition to the Love Happens series by Jodi Watters.  Two imperfect people really can be perfect for each other.  I loved the main characters in this book.  Both Beck and Hope are beautifully flawed and look at life as complete opposites, yet they are drawn to one another and form a relationship so right.  Even being right, however, relationship takes work, and that brings about the true beauty of this book.  It is real and honest and shows that love is not always easy, but oh so worth the effort!

This book is wonderfully written with great, in depth characters that are extremely relatable.  There is fantastic dialogue, fun secondary characters and a great story with some unexpected plot twists.  A five star read for me! Cannot wait to see what is next for this series.

Synopsis:

Hope Coleson is having a doozy of a day.
Wrongly terminated from her menial waitressing job? Check
Abruptly evicted from her run down apartment with prime views of the graffiti painted dumpster? Double check.
Thoroughly bedded by a smoking hot man with smooth moves and zero communication skills? Triple X check.
And it doesn’t end there. Estranged family members are showing up like bad pennies, her precious savings account has been wiped clean, and she may or may not have a stalker.
So what’s a desperate girl to do, but try her hand at love?

Retired Navy SEAL Beckett Smith doesn’t make mistakes.
Yes, he drinks his way to the bottom of a beer bottle or six, on one too many occasions.
Sure, he’s a well-educated man who prefers to communicate at a level only slighter higher than your average poodle.
And yeah, he lost his legendary control and slept with his boss’s sister, stripping her of more than just her clothes before making a quick getaway.
Only it doesn’t end there. Isolation isn’t providing the peace he’s seeking, the boss he considers a friend is ready to hand him a beat down and a pink slip, and the girl he can’t stop thinking about is suddenly parked on his doorstep.
So what’s a jaded guy to do, but take a chance on love?

All books in the LOVE HAPPENS SERIES can be read on their own, or as a companion to the other books in the series:
Next to Me (Sam)
Wrong then Right (Beckett)
True to You (Asher)

About the Author:

My love for steamy romance began when I was in junior high. A friend and I came upon a dumpster of discarded paperbacks behind our small town’s Ben Franklin store. Covers missing and each book torn in two, split right down the center of the spline, I scanned the pages for any love or lust words—and curse words, too. From that point on, I scoured the public library and our local discount store, devouring anything labeled romance. I said a tearfully grateful goodbye to Judy Bloom as Jackie Collins began ruling my world.

I live with my high school sweetheart turned husband and our three, beloved DVR’s, in the desert Southwest. Otherwise known as the surface of the sun during the summer.

My life long goals are to think before I speak, smile more and swear less, and actually weigh what my driver’s license states I do. And I have been contemplating a hair color change for the last decade. I’m thinking red.
