Inspired by her sister, Julie Daniels has committed her life to assisting the blind learn living skills and how to manage in the world without the use of their sight. When her new client brings her to the door of her former high school crush, Julie knows she is going to need to rely on all of her skills as well as have a little faith that she will make it through this job while staying professional.
When Clay Marshall’s brother, Bo, loses his sight due to a degenerative eye disease, he also seems to lose his will to live and function in society and locks himself away in his room. Not knowing what to do, Clay reaches out to the organization Blind Faith for help. He didn’t expect Julie Daniels, the shy and brainy girl he secretly had a crush on in high school to show up at his door to bring his brother back to the land of the living.
While Teresa Gabelman is best known for her paranormal romance, I have come to really enjoy her western romances. Blind Faith is a quick and easy read, but really captures a sweet story about a second chance at romance. While both Clay and Julie barely even spoke in high school, they both secretly crushed on one another. Not that fate has brought them together again, they only need to have a little faith to take the leap towards one another.
Teresa also did an amazing job giving readers a glimpse of what the life of a person who suffered from blindness is like. She did an amazing job of giving details on how someone who loses their sight can relearn behaviors and skills that we take for granted in our daily lives, such as moving around your space or getting dressed. I truly enjoyed Julie’s interactions with Bo as she not only gave him confidence in being his own man again, but the skills he needed to be successful in a world where he can no longer rely on his vision.
Blind Faith was an inspiring and very sweet read. If you are looking for and quick and light romance that packs a punch with a well executed plot, this is a must read. 4.5 stars!
