The Spotlight is on Brie Paisley today!
Brie has written a variety of romances including dark romance, erotica, romantic comedy and second chance romance.
I’m really happy to be able to share a bit about Brie and her writing with you today!
What would you like your readers to know about you?
There isn’t much to know about me lol. I’m a book nerd, a bit quirky, and I swear a lot. I would say I’m a pretty boring person, but I’m a very loyal person once I get to know people on a personal level.
What inspires you to write?
I have many things that inspire me to write. First would be the readers. I love knowing so many people want more books that I’ve written, and that just makes my job as an author so much easier. The second would be social media. When I see some of my favorite authors or my author friends publishing, it just makes me want to do the same. Lastly would be reading. If I read a book and I’m really into it, it just makes me want to create something good too.
Is there a genre you feel drawn to write or do you see yourself tackling a variety of genres in the future?
I’ve always said I wanted to write in multi genres. I feel as an author, you should be able to write pretty much anything. So far, I’ve done dark romance, erotica, RomCom, and contemporary romance. In the future, I plan on writing military romance, psychological thrillers, and my favorite genre, paranormal.
Can you describe your writing space?
My space consists of me sitting on my couch in the living room. It’s nothing spectacular, but it’s comfy. Sometimes I’ll mix it up and go hangout at the library or the coffee shop.
Can you tell us a bit about your writing process?
Every time I start a writing session, I’ll have my word doc open, earbuds in, and most of the time I’ll have my outline next to me. I always start by reading over what I wrote before, then pick up from there. Most times, I usually have a general idea of what I want to write and where I want it to go. If I haven’t started a new story yet, I’ll take my notebook and jot down ideas.
What is your go to snack when writing?
I usually don’t snack when I write. I find it too distracting because I love food lol. Instead of writing, I would end up just eating the entire time.
Are any of your books or characters based on personal experiences or people in your life?
Every book I’ve published has something of me in there, but Carter (The Harlow Brothers: Book One) and Caden (The Harlow Brothers: Book Two) is probably the most I’ve ever written that is based off true life events. The entire Harlow series is based in my hometown, and every book has or will have real life experiences. Carter is probably the one that tells my life story with a bit of fiction. The heroine, Shelby, actually goes through something that I did. I find books that are more realistic and people want to read books that have experiences they can relate to more appealing.
Do you have a favorite character or book you have written?
Yes. I love all my characters, but I have two as of right now that I adore. That would be Carter from The Harlow Brothers: Book One, and Caden from book two of the same series.
Any hints as to what readers can expect next?
As of right now, I’m currently taking a break from publishing. But that doesn’t mean I won’t be writing. I have book three of the Harlow Brother series I’m working on which will be Caleb. Then I want to write my first novella for Carter and Shelby. I’ve also been brainstorming with my best friend for a taboo novella series.
Tell us about your Street Team and or Reader Group and let us know how interested readers can join.
I don’t have a street team anymore, but I do have a blast team. This team only does anything promotional wise until I have a new release. If you’re interested in this group, you can join here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/106600089929158/
I do have a readers group and all are welcome. I do post a lot about what I’m working on, snippets, and of course this group gets to see everything first. The link to join is here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/688213461324929/
For new to you readers, what book would you suggest they read first?
I guess it depends on what a reader is in the mood for. But I would have to go with Carter (The Harlow Brothers: Book One). It’s a standalone series and who can resist a hot southern boy?
When not writing your own books, who do you like to read?
I love a lot of genres lol. But paranormal is my all-time favorite. Then I really enjoy a good dark romance, and then I would say mystery is another favorite. Just depends on what mood I’m in.
Share a random fact or two that readers don’t know about you.
I talk to myself a lot. Like people have given me a weird look before because I do it in public too. I also cannot stand silence. As in, no matter where I am, I have to have some sort of background noise. Like right now, I have the TV going.
Celebrity Crush? Jensen Ackles
Favorite Beverage? Coffee
Sweet or Savory for snacks? Can I pick both?
What type of music do you listen to? Mostly rock.
Favorite tv show? Supernatural, Grimm, Family Guy, and many, many more.
Do you have any pets? I do! I have a boxer that will turn 5 in November. His name is Benjamin or Ben for short.
Biggest pet peeve? I hate when drivers don’t use a blinker. Drives me bananas.
Favorite vacation spot? That would be Corfu, Greece. It’s absolutely stunning there.
Morning or Night person? I would have to go with night person. I just don’t sleep very well.
Favorite sports team? I’m not a big sports fan lol. That would be my hubby.
Hobbies? I love to read, write, paint when the mood strikes, scrapbook, hiking, and traveling.

Isaac, however, lets Riley know he is willing to share. Shocked and utterly confused, Riley does as she is told and begins a relationship with not one, but two men. Everything was great until Isaac and Conner’s past comes back to haunt them and Riley ends up in the middle. I just want to be free. I want and need my freedom from him.
I need freedom from his darkness.
I need freedom from his chains that bind me.
I need freedom from falling for the man that I know is a monster. She is light. Everything that is good while I am consumed with darkness. She is my salvation from the monster that dwells inside of me. I can’t help but want her. I can’t help but need her. I have to consume her in every way possible. She is mine whether she wants to believe it or not. She wants her freedom from me. But what she doesn’t see, I am the very thing she wants and needs.
Freedom to be herself.
Freedom to let go of her pain.
Freedom to fall for the one man that sets her body on fire.
Body, mind, and soul I will claim what is mine.
Redeemed (The Worshipped Series) (Volume 3)
I’ve lived in total darkness for as long as I can remember. A dangerous place where pain, love, not even remorse was felt. My world was filled with blood and death until the day I met Karen. Little by little she showed me the way out of that darkness, into her light. She was everything I needed and craved. I learned to fight my darkness, wanted the good side of me to win, until old and new enemies threaten to take away everything and everyone I care about. Darkness is winning and I fear the only one that can redeem me is the one I’ll end up hurting more than I thought possible.
Karen can save me, only if she beats the dark beast inside of me.
Control is the one thing I understand the most. It’s the one thing I’ve depended on to keep my fragile heart safe. That was my life until Jason changed everything. He opened up a side of me I thought had disappeared long ago, and the control I needed for so long doesn’t seem so appealing. There’s a void, a hole left inside me now that Jason’s not by my side. I know his demons. I know his dark beast that dwells within him waiting to takeover completely. I’ve seen it, felt it, and when the monster breaks free, I fear for everyone I love.
He thinks I can save him, but in the end, he’s the only one that can redeem himself.
*Note: This is the final book of the Worshipped Series and is not intended to be read as standalones.*

Temptation comes in many forms.
Most people are able to resist or fight against it. I am not one of those people.
I used to be the good girl. That shy and forgettable girl that everyone looked over. That girl that had her whole life planned out. But one choice, one bad mistake at a party, changed my life in so many ways. Gone was my mapped out future. Gone was the perfect image of the girl I was.

Now I have a choice.
Will I continue to fight Viktor? Or will I give into his temptation?

No matter how much I try to stay away, something always pulls me back to him. But the urge to get the answers I’ve longed for, outweighs my feelings for him.
