My Review:

Wicked Rules picks up right where Wicked Beginnings left off.  Lo and Maverick are together, but no one except for their closest friends now – even their families.  And, things are not easy.  Keeping their relationship a secret might be easier, but it’s not what either wants.  Coming out in public, however, puts Lo in the spotlight and places a target on her by all of Maverick’s enemies, including his father.

Maverick is so close to his endgame of graduating and going to college to play basketball, but in typical fashion, things in Wicked Bay are not what they seem.  Alec Prince is not going to let Rick do what he wants without exerting his control and threatening everyone Maverick cares about.  In order to protect those he loves, especially Lo, Maverick has to play the game . . . even if it means risking his relationship with Lo.

Where Wicked Beginnings focused on Lo’s backstory, Wicked Rules is all about Rick.  Readers finally get a glimpse of why Maverick is the brooding alpha personality he is.  Circumstances really put both Maverick and Lo through the relationship ringer, testing if love really is enough when they are tested again and again

As in book one, the other Stone-Prince siblings continue to play a crucial role in the plot, especially Kyle.  While he shows the world his goofy and fun  loving side, he truly is a rock for both Maverick and Lo throughout this story.

I loved watching Maverick man-up and fight to finally control his destiny with Lo at his side.  Lo’s strength is truly amazing . . . it’s hard to remember she is only 18 when she has already been through so much and shows the inner strength and determination that she does throughout this book.

5 Stars for Wicked Rules!  If you haven’t one clicked this series yet, you are really missing out on something special.

BLURB

From the author who brought you the Chastity Falls series, comes the second book in the Wicked Bay series…

Lo Stone should be used to change by now. It’s been her life for the last year, but how much can a girl take before the cracks begin to show? She knew being with Maverick wouldn’t be easy, but she didn’t anticipate her life in Wicked Bay becoming a game of deceit and lies.Maverick Prince risked everything for Lo, but it was worth it to see her smile. Only now he’s painted a target on her back and he refuses to let that happen. The only way to protect her is to do what Prince’s do best—play the game and stick to the rules.

Even if some rules are made to be broken.

 ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Author of mature young adult and new adult novels, L A is happiest writing the kind of books she loves to read: addictive stories full of teenage angst, tension, twists and turns.Home is a small town in the middle of England where she currently juggles being a full-time writer with being a mother/referee to two little people. In her spare time (and when she’s not camped out in front of the laptop) you’ll most likely find L A immersed in a book, escaping the chaos that is life.
