~Book Review~ “Snow and the Seven Huntsmen” by Zoe Blake & Alta Hensley

My Review:

After being isolated by her stepmother for years, Snow knows that her time is finally up and that the Queen has finally sent someone to kill her.  Survival pushes her to try and escape, but Snow stands no chance against the seven Huntsmen that were sent to break her. The Huntsmen have their own plan, however.  They don’t intend to kill Snow, but keep her for themselves.

Snow and the Seven Huntsmen is a very dark and erotic retelling of the classic fairy tale.  Completely isolated since her father’s death, Snow is an innocent and can’t even fathom her new reality at the hands of seven men who plan on controlling every aspect of her life, expecting her to be submissive in all ways as she caters to not only their household needs, but their personal ones as well.

The Huntsmen are harsh men.  There is no life of leisure waiting for Snow, and they teach her their expectations in ways that definitely get their point across.  As time goes on, Snow begins to crave their discipline and understands to them it represents that they do care and set and enforce their rules with her to protect her from the Queen that will call for her blood if she ever realizes that Snow still lives.

This book was light on plot and heavy on eroticism with its basis in BDSM with a heavy emphasis on discipline.  It’s a naughty fairy tale and is definitely not for readers who have triggers of non-consent. I enjoyed this book for what it was, a quick, very dark and very sexy read.  That being said, I do wish there had been more character development with Snow and the Huntsmen as they lacked depth. I feel like that would have added another layer of substance to the story rather than having this simply be an erotic tale.  4 stars.

Zoe Blake
USA TODAY Bestselling Author in Dark Romance.

We are all attracted to the forbidden. Addicted to the rush we get from reading something naughty…something kinky. We love to lose ourselves in the fantasy. The
powerful lord who sweeps the lady away to his remote estate to ravish her. The
cowboy who takes the sassy city girl over his knee to teach her a lesson. The
devilishly charming pirate who seduces his beautiful captive.

She writes those dark fantasies.

Alta Hensley
USA TODAY Bestselling Author of Hot, Dark and Dirty Romance.

She is also an Amazon Top 100 bestselling author. Being a multi-published author in the romance genre, Alta is known for her dark, gritty alpha heroes, sometimes sweet
love stories, hot eroticism, and engaging tales of the constant struggle
between dominance and submission.
