~Book Review~ “Luther: 2 Truths and a Lie” by K.L. Donn

My Review:

Ariel McCray is ready to end her young life at eighteen.  Forced her entire life to do the unthinkable, she knows she can’t face the future her father has planned for her.  Just as she is ready to let it all go, she’s saved by the unlikeliest of heroes.

Luther Sutton is the right hand man to King Adair.  While on a surveillance mission gathering information on the McCrays, Luther is drawn to a gorgeous redhead at standing atop a cliff.  When he stops her from jumping, he’s shocked to learn she’s the daughter of their enemy. While he knows he should have just let her jump, he couldn’t do it and now takes her back to King to see if she can be used as a paw to get the information they need.  There’s one major problem, however, she’s his and he’s not willing to let Ariel sacrifice herself for anyone, including herself.

Luther is the second book in KL Donn’s Adair series and should not be read as a standalone.  This book is incredibly dark with brutal scenes of torture and a dark storyline that features child trafficking.  If you enjoy a dark read, however, Luther is perfect! KL Donn has beautifully captured Luther’s savagery and hardness.  As a reader, it’s easy to see why he is drawn to Ariel’s innocence and desperation . . . and she is innocent regardless of the role she’s been forced to play by her father.

Ariel is such a lost soul, yet possess a core of absolute steel to face the things that she does in this book and to come out standing on the other side.  She’s a phenomenal match for Luther and I’m truly enjoying watching the men of the Adair Empire fall for the women truly made to be the other half of their souls.

KL Donn has also done a great job of teasing us with more looks at the other Adair characters who will have books in the series to truly capture the reader’s attention and cause extreme anticipation for the next release!  5 stars

2 Truths
I was ready to die
He saved me

And a lie
Rock bottom is your breaking point
Or is it?

The Adair Empire is a dark and graphic romance that will push your buttons, and maybe your boundaries. Each book contains a new couple but ends with a plot cliff-hanger. Series must be read in order of release.

    1. That is the most amazing comment I’ve ever received! I hope you love Luther – it is definitely dark and not for all readers . . .I however love a well written dark romance and this fit the bill!
