Down The TBR Hole is a meme hosted by @ Lost in a Story that revolves around cleansing your TBR of all those books you’re never going to read and sort through it all to know what’s actually on there.
- Go to your Goodreads to-read shelf.
- Order on ascending date added.
- Take the first 5 (or 10 (or even more!) if you’re feeling adventurous) books. Of course, if you do this weekly, you start where you left off the last time.
- Read the synopses of the books
- Decide: keep it or should it go?
In my case, My TBR is on my Kindle. So, I find myself going back to the earliest add of my current paperwhite (and realizing that my dates will be out of order since every time you open a book, it reorders them LOL).
If you are intrigued by any of the titles, clicking on their name will take you to Amazon to learn more.
The Book: The Chronicles of Izzy: The Complete Series by Michelle Graves
Date added to my Kindle: 05/15/2015
My Thoughts: This is over 700 pages and the synopsis just isn’t sparking my interest right now. And, it’s been sitting for more than 3 years.
Verdict: Remove
The Book: The Descent Series, Books 1-3: Death’s Hand, The Darkest Gate, and Dark Union
Date added to my Kindle: 08/22/2014
My Thoughts: This is another one that is a box set and has been sitting for years. The synopsis just isn’t snagging my interest enough to commit to this right now.
Verdict: Remove
The Book: Homeward Bound (Journeyman Book 1) by Golden Czermak
Date added to my Kindle: 08/08/2016
My Thoughts: This sounds intriguing and I’ve met Golden at a few author events and have a signed copy, so I really want to give this series a chance.
Verdict: Keep (as a bit of a cheat, I’ve also decided to keep Seal of Solomon and Made to Suffer which are books two and three of the series as well.
The Book: Billion Dollar Bear by Catherine Vale
Date added to my Kindle: 01/02/2017
My Thoughts: I snagged this (and a bunch of the author’s titles) when she had a week of giveaways and freebies. Honestly, I snagged because I could. This one isn’t grabbing my interest at this time.
Verdict: Remove
The Book: Broken Moon by Catherine Vale
Date added to my Kindle: 01/01/2017
My Thoughts: Again, this was a freebie I grabbed just because it was free. I’m sure I’ll keep a few of her titles, but not this one.
Verdict: Remove
I removed 4 books out of the 7 books I listed this week. And, yes, this is still a struggle.
Running total: 6 books kept and 6 books removed.
Have you read any of the books I listed above? Which would you keep / remove?
Feel free to share your thoughts in the comments.
Good for you Janine!😁
