Down The TBR Hole is a meme hosted by @ Lost in a Story that revolves around cleansing your TBR of all those books you’re never going to read and sort through it all to know what’s actually on there.
- Go to your Goodreads to-read shelf.
- Order on ascending date added.
- Take the first 5 (or 10 (or even more!) if you’re feeling adventurous) books. Of course, if you do this weekly, you start where you left off the last time.
- Read the synopses of the books
- Decide: keep it or should it go?
In my case, My TBR is on my Kindle. So, I find myself going back to the earliest add of my current paperwhite (and realizing that my dates will be out of order since every time you open a book, it reorders them LOL).
If you are intrigued by any of the titles, clicking on their name will take you to Amazon to learn more.
The Book: Non Friction by Morgan Parker
Date added to my Kindle: 12/01/14
My Thoughts: I had read another book by this author and genuinely adored it, so I purchased this book and it sat on my TBR. As of right now, this blurb isn’t catching my attention.
Verdict: Remove
The Book: Ultimate Alpha Boxed Set: A BBW and Wolf Shifter collection by Terry Bolryder
Date added to my Kindle: 07/07/15
My Thoughts: So . . . . I’ve read all of these as individuals through the KU program a few years ago – oops! LOL
Verdict: Remove
The Book: Fractured Affections by Elizabeth Wills
Date added to my Kindle: 11/25/15
My Thoughts: I’ve heard fabulous things about this author and series, but it’s an ugly cry series and just not my thing.
Verdict: Remove
The Book: The Game Changer by Scott Hildreth
Date added to my Kindle: 02/05/17
My Thoughts: This was book two in a three part series. I loved book one and snagged this as soon as it came out, but was waiting for the series ender to also be released before reading . . . and it got buried on my TBR. Book three is out, so I need to get back to this!
Verdict: Keep
The Book: The Pledge by Laura Ward and Christine Manzari
Date added to my Kindle: 3/17/17
My Thoughts: So, even though this has good reviews, re-reading the blurb, this seems super angsty to me which I’m not about right now.
Verdict: Remove
I removed 4 books out of the 5 books I listed this week. And, yes, this is still a struggle. Honestly, the only reason I can complete this exercise is because these books still live on in my Amazon cloud.
Running total: 7 books kept and 10 books removed.
Have you read any of the books I listed above? Which would you keep / remove?
Feel free to share your thoughts in the comments.
You did good! Better than I would as it would be like pulling out teeth 😉

Sophie, my saving grace is they all still “live” in my Amazon content cloud . . . if not, I don’t know if I could remove any. I am hoping that cutting those actually on my kindle helps me prioritize and get top the ones I really want to read.
