That’s What He Said is a weekly meme hosted by @Chapter Break. Here’s the deal: every Thursday, post a line from your book boyfriend to his heroine. Keep in mind, these are direct quotes from dialog in the books. The quote doesn’t have to be romantic – it can be anything spoken by a book boyfriend. Be sure to link up over at Chapter Break as well!
Lance has his heart set on Mary and making her happy, even when she is as prickly as a porcupine and it seems like there is no hope for a relationship. His unwavering love and support for her is enough to wear any woman down.
Poor Mary has been through so much, that I understand the walls she has built to protect herself and that she feels more comfortable identifying with the characters in her books. Watching Lance break through to her heart makes for an incredibly gorgeous story.
The fact that Lance read one of Mary’s favorite books and helped to put his feelings into terms she could truly identify with made my heart burst! It doesn’t hurt that Anne of Green Gables is one of my favorite series from childhood as well!
