That’s What He Said is a weekly meme hosted by @Chapter Break. Here’s the deal: every Thursday, post a line from your book boyfriend to his heroine. Keep in mind, these are direct quotes from dialog in the books. The quote doesn’t have to be romantic – it can be anything spoken by a book boyfriend. Be sure to link up over at Chapter Break as well!
Phoebe has had a crush on the Benson since she was 15 years old and met him at a party. She knew right away that he was different . . . special. She stood up for him then, and she never forgot him.
Benson never forgot Phoebe either and vowed to become a better man. One that could function in society and be the type of man she needed, not one ruled by his Asperger’s diagnosis. Years later, he’s a decorated veteran, warden of the local prison, President of the Bear Bottom Guardians MC Club and Phoebe’s new boss.
With a romance that has been brewing for years, it’s a slow burn that literally explodes once Bayou realizes that Phoebe wants him as much as he wants her. Just as their romance starts, Bayou’s hit with unexpected news that could end their relationship before it has a chance to bloom . . . except he refuses to let it! Phoebe’s his and he’s never giving her up!
Technically Bayou tells the above quite to his cousin, but Phoebe is in the room. I love it because his Asperger’s makes flowery words hard for Bayou. He’s literal and speaks only what he means. And, for him, actions definitely speak louder than words.

One Chance, Fancy by Lani Lynn Vale
Synopsis:
Benson Bayou Beauregard is the president of the Bear Bottom Guardians MC, and the grandson of the Sergeant at Arms for the Dixie Wardens MC. He’s a mountain of a man and the warden of a prison, and there’s only one thing that can scare him—being told that he’s the father of a three-year-old little girl.
A three-year-old little girl that has no clue who he is. Hell, he only finds out about the little cherub when a woman from child protective services comes by and rocks his world before leaving the girl in his shocked arms.
Every single thing he thinks he knows goes up in a cloud of smoke.
To make matters worse, the woman that he’s been trying to convince to give him a chance takes one look at the little girl and tells him that he’s just not in the right place to handle both of them.
But Bayou was never one to back down from a challenge.
He can handle a three-year-old girl that acts exactly like him, and he can more than take on the fiery red-head that sets flame to his blood while he’s at it.
