~Book Review~ “One Night with a Nutcracker” by Jana Aston

My Review:

Sutton may not be the most conventional woman in town.  She’s kind of a free spirit living in an airstream trailer on land she doesn’t own, rescuing goats and selling products made from their milk for a living.  But, she’s happy . . . that is until Jake Sheppard comes back into town to claim his inheritance . . .that just happens to be the land that Sutton is living on.

Jake has plans for his inheritance that include a new golf course.  Instead, when he arrives to survey the land, he finds Sutton, a bunch of rescue goats and a barn that is falling down around her.  She’s beautiful and feisty and, having her for just one night, which is what she offers, will never be enough.

But, goats and golf courses don’t mix even if Sutton and Jake do.

I adored every single thing about Sutton.  From the moment she rescued her first goat, she was all in and has built a life for herself while being the best goat mom around to all of her rescues.  I loved her mix of eccentricities while also finding a way to run a successful and creative business.  And, I particularly enjoyed how she threw Jake, a very detail and logic oriented lawyer, for a loop from the moment he steps foot on the Reindeer Falls Goat Farm.

One Night with a Nutcracker was a really fun holiday read that has caroling goats and an opposites attract / enemies to lovers couple with crazy hot chemistry and a whirlwind romance will leave readers grinning from ear to ear!  4.5 stars.

My name is Jake Sheppard and I’m ambivalent about Christmas and the Christmas-themed town I grew up in. But when I find out my late uncle left me an old barn and acres of land, the decision to return home to build my dream golf course is an easy one.

Imagine my surprise when I arrive and find out I have a squatter.

An incredibly sexy squatter, with wavy blonde hair, green eyes, a free spirit… and a herd of goats.

Lexi hates my guts. Apparently evicting a non-paying non-tenant and her goats weeks before Christmas is grounds for war.

Except Lexi’s version of war includes flinging her clothing at me and, as it turns out, I might be in way over my head with this girl…

About the Author:

Jana Aston likes cats, big coffee cups and books about billionaires who deflower virgins. She wrote her debut novel while fielding customer service calls about electrical bills, and she’s ever grateful for the fictional gynecologist in Wrong that readers embraced so much she was able to make working in her pajamas a reality. Jana’s novels have appeared on the NYT, USA Today and Wall Street Journal bestseller lists, some multiple times. She likes multiples.
